Keith Miller Presents: Police Quest Hint Sheets Police Quest was written By Sierra On-Line, Inc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please feel free to distribute this file to friends or Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --) Note: (-- I did not solve Police Quest with the highest amount of points at the end. --) Starting Off... (-- You areto attend a briefing at the beginning of the game. To do this, you must immediatly report to the briefing room. Walk into the room on the Top on the right side of the screen. When you are in the room, walk over to the table with the newspaper and GET the NEWSPAPER. READ the NEWSPAPER. (The Information is not important in the game, it is there just for the points!). When you are finished, walk to the front table on the right column (The Column nearest to the pigeonholes.) The information in the briefing is not really important except for your NEW Call Number. After the briefing is over, walk over to the pigeonholes and get in front of yours, the Second one on the bottom from the left. Type LOOK IN PIGEONHOLE. You should have a note. You do not have to report directly to the Blue Room when you get the Patrol Car, you will have to go to the Blue Room later on in the game. Now the briefing is over. --) The Locker Room... (-- Now you need to go the Locker Room. Exit the Briefing Room and go to the room under the Briefing Room. You have to get all of the necessary things out of your locker. Your locker is the second one from the right on the top row. Walk over to it and type OPEN LOCKER. A Screen with a view of the inside of your locker will show up. The things you have to GET are: Brief Case, Gun Belt, and the Ammo. Now CLOSE LOCKER. --) Your FIRST Assignment... (-- After you have gotten all of the necessary materials from your locker, you can now roam the streets of Lytton. You must first get the Keys for your patrol car. The Keyrack is just outside of the Locker and Briefing Room on the wall on the Left side of the screen. Walk over to it and type GET KEYS. No just walk to the outside of the building. --) The Safety Inspection... (-- Your Patrol Car will be the one on the bottom left. You need to inspect the car before you leave to prevent any accidents (You have to do this EVERY time you exit a vehicle anddrive it again!) Type CHECK CAR and walk to all four sides of the vehicle. When it tells you that you have completed the Saftey Inspection, that means you can now enter the car. Walk to the drivers door and type OPEN DOOR. GET IN CAR. CLOSE DOOR. WEAR SEAT BELT (Not Necessary, only for Points). START CAR. --) The Real Thing... (-- You first assignment should be a Car Wreck at the corner of Fig and 4th. The Dispatcher will tell you when to report to the scene. This is when you should get familiar with the area. You can drive to all over the city. To make it easier on you when you have to report to a different area, you should type LOOK on every different Map Area. The Dispatcher often uses Businesses or Landmarks to tell you where the crime is. To find out what street is what, you can press CTRL-D. This will tell the dispatcher what street you car is on. You should always use CTRL-D when you are in pursuit of a car, just arrived at the scene of a crime, or to confirm that you have received the dispatchers message. When the Dispatcher tells you to report to the Accident, drive over to the corner of Fig and 4th. Park. Press CTRL-D. Get out of the Car and Examine the Car that got into the acccident (The Green One). Search the Car. Examine the Victim. Type HELP MAN. Then go over to the spectators. A Little Kid will walk over to you and tell you about the accident. Make sure you QUESTION all of the WITNESSes. After you have done this, press CTRL-D. Then wait for the other Police Officers to come to the scene. When they arrive, get into you car and leave the scene. --) Little Red Corvette... (-- Just start driving around the City. Sometime a Red Car will run a red light. When you witness this, press CTRL-D. Chase the car until the driver pulls to the side. PARK. Press CTRL-D. OPEN the BRIEFCASE and get the Pen and Ticket Book. Get out of your car. Walk over to the Girl. TALK to GIRL. GET LICENSE. WRITE TICKET. ASK GIRL TO SIGN TICKET. GIVE TICKET TO GIRL. Now you have finished this, I think. Now go enter you car and press CTRL-D. Start driving. --) Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of... (-- Sometime along the way a Drunk Driver in a Purple Car will drive around. It will tell you when the Drunk is on the same screen. If you want to tell by your self, just wait on a screen until a Purple Sedan is driving down a street and swirving at the same time. Chase after this car until the Drunk pulls over. You can press F1 for a list of commands to do while you are driving. Press F8 to drive as fast as the drunk. Press CTRL-D while you are in pursuit of the Drunk. When the Drunk finally pulls over (It may take a while), PARK. Get out of the car. Press CTRL-D. Walk over to the Drunk and Type TALK to MAN. GET LICENSE. GIVE LICENSE TO MAN. TELL MAN TO GET OUT. GIVE TEST. READ RIGHTS TO MAN. ARREST MAN. Do NOT handcuff the Drunk in the front until you have saved the game. CALL TOW TRUCK. OPEN DOOR (Walk in front of the back door). When the Drunk is in the car, type CLOSE DOOR (Make sure it is the Back Door). Now get into the car. Press CTRL-D. Drive the Drunk to the City Jail. When you arrive there, get out of the car and get the Drunk out of the car too. Make sure you put you gunbelt in the lockers by typing OPEN LOCKER and PUT GUNBELT IN LOCKER and CLOSE LOCKER. Now Walk over to the Button and PRESS BUTTON. When the Jailer asks for the Charge, type DUI. When the Booking is complete and the Drunk is behind bars, go outside to get your Gunbelt and get in your car. It is NOT necessary to CHECK your CAR. I think you have to go to the Coffee Store Now (The Caffiene Castle), so drive over there. Talk to Steve and drink with him. Then a Phone should ring and the Call should be for you. I am not sure what the instructions (From the phone are), but follow them... The rest of the game is easy (I am just typing this is because I have forgotten the rest!)
