The Secret of Monkey Island: A skillfull walkthrough

Part One
------------------------------------------------------
1. When you start out, walk past the building with the
poster, and into the Yuppie Scumm Bar (YSB).

2. Walk to the end of the resturant, where three 
important-looking pirates are sitting. 

3. Talk to them about the three trials, and get all 
the information.

4. Walk to the door, and open it, the chef will yell
at you.

5. Stand aside and wait for the chef to come out, then
run quickly in.

6. In the kitchen:
   a) Grab the Meat
   b) Grab the Pot
   c) Go outside and step on the plank to the right of
      the seagull.
   d) Do this until you can grab the fish.
   e) Put both the fish and meat in the stew (Not at 
      the same time) and take them out.
   f) Leave the kitchen.

7. Leave the YSB and go to the right, under the 
archway.

8. Talk to the three pirates with the rat, and ask
them and pick the following options:
   1, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2.

9. Now go back over the bridge with your "map" and 
two pieces of eight, past the YSB, up the hill, 
past the lookout summit, and onto the main path (mp).

10. Walk to the little pink light (the clearing), and
into the circus tent.

11. Interupt the "brothers", by picking the following 
options:
    1, 1, 2, Give the pot to the Fetuccini Brothers,
    2.

12. After all the crap they said, leave to the mp.

13. Walk back past the three pirates and the rat to
the second archway, and into the first door you come
up to.

14. Once inside, climb up the stairs and pickup the
shovel, and then downstairs to pickup the sword.

15. Purchase these by talking to the storekeeper, 
with the following options:
    1, 1, 1, 1, 1.

16. Exit, and follow the StoreKeeper to the 
sword-master's house.  Don't worry, It's hard to 
lose him.

17. Go up and talk with the Sword-Master (SM).

18. Use any of the options, then leave.

19. Continue along to a light in the south-eastern
part of the map (bottom-right).

20. Along the way, you should meet a troll.  Give
him the stewed fish, and proceed to the light.

20. Go up to the door, and attempt to open it, and
he will knock.

21. The only option you need to select when talking
to him is option #1.

22. When you leave the so-called lesson, go to the
mp and try to run into a pirate.

23. This will engage you in a fight.  Always pick 
the option that reads "I'm Guybrush Threepwood,
prepare to die!", read the "INSULTS" below this
walkthrough for the insults and correct responses.

24. Leave and go to the fork.

25. Navagate through until you get to the "x", on a
different looking clearing.  On the way, grab a yellow
petal.

26. Leave, and go to the city.

27. Follow the path all the way, past the convience 
store, church, and jail, and to the governers mansion, 
BUT on the way: Go to the strange man with a parrot
and use the following options:
    3, Talk to him again, 1, 2, and continue on your 
    path.
BUT once again: stop at the first door to your right 
after the parrot-guy.

28. In the store, go to the table in the bottom right
of the screen to pick up the dead chicken.

29. Leave and continue to the governers mansion.

30. When you arrive, mix the flower and meat (If you
already haven't) and toss it at the Piranha Poodles.

31. When they're "sleeping", go to the front door,
open it, and go inside.

32. Once inside, pick up the vase, and go into the
glass doors.

33. After he beats you up, pick up the "ming" vase,
and leave.  Go to the jail (first building you see
after leaving the Governers Mansion).

34. Meet Otis here, who will request breath-mints.

35. Go to the convenience store again, talk to 
the man, and ask him for breathmints, buy them, 
and go back to Otis.

36. Give him the breath-mints and use the second
option, and give him the gopher repellant.

37. Eat the cake (use "use") to get the file, and 
return to the governers mansion.

38. Go inside and jump into the gaping hole behind
the picture.  

39. Use option number one when it comes up, and when
the governer talks to you, pick any options - it
doesn't matter.

40. Try to open the door, and then let the sheriff
take you to the pier, and push you in.

41. Pick up the idle, and get up - on the way, you'll
get the sword.

42. When you are talking, use option 4, and walk to
the mp.

43. Look for the carnival type lights (That's Stans
boat place (SBP)).

44. When talking to Stan, use these options: (Annoying,
I know)
    2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 2, last one.

45. Return to the convenience store, and ask the
storekeeper for credit, and say you work anywhere, 
and watch carefully how he opens the safe.

45. Open it, here's the combonation:
    1. Pull three times.
    2. Push twice.
    3. Pull once.
    4. Push once.

46. Congrats!  You have credit.  Leave and go to Stan's. 
When there, use the following options:
    3, 2, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 4, 4, 1, 2, the
    one with 5000, YOU GOT IT!

47. Leave to the MP, and go to the light in the top right
corner.

48. Use the chicken to slide down the rope, and enter to
meet meathook.  Use the following options:
    1, 3, Open Door, Tease Beast, Leave.

49. Go to the swordmasters, and use the only the third
option.

50. Return to the YSB, and talk to the chef, where the 
important pirates were.  

51. When you learn of the real situation, collect all the
mugs and go to the kitchen.

52. Fill one of the mugs with grog from the barrel, but 
first, grab the meat, and go the the jail house fast!  
Along the way, the mugs may melt, so keep using one of 
the mugs with another one until you reach Otis.  If they
all melt, go back and try again.

53. Try to give the grog to Otis, except Guybrush spills
it on the lock and releases him.

54. Go to the dock where Stan will be waiting with your
"ship", use only option #1 both times.

55. Congrats!  You have just completed Part 1: The Three
Trials!


Part Two
--------------------------------------------------------
1. When you start in the Captains Quarters (CQ), pick up 
the Feather Pen and Ink on the desk, and search through
the top left drawer, look inside, and get the "Dusty Book"

NOTE: To skip him reading the book, simply press ESC.

2. Leave, and use the rope ladder by the mast to climb up
and grab the "Jolly Roger" flag.

3. Behind the mast, there is a hole with a ladder, descend
it.

4. Walk straight ahead and down the similarly shaped whole.

5. This is the Gun Room.  

6. While your here, open up a keg and grab some gunpowder,
and grab the rope resting on a keg, and finally, open the 
chest in the very bottom right, look into it to get some
VERY fine wine.  Go back up the ladder.

7. Go down the whole opposite this one, this is the KITCHEN.

8. Open up the cupboard to the left and get a box of cereal.

9. "Open" the cereal, and "Open" the prize inside to get a
key.

10. Pick up the pot just to the right of the cupboard (Like
the one at the beginning of the game).

11. Go back to the CQ, and use the key in the cabinet to
the right.

12. Pick up the chest, open it, and look in it.  

13. After that,  return to the KITCHEN and look at the last
sheet of paper you found, it is a recipe.

14. Put the following into the pot:
    1. Cinnamon Sticks
    2. Fine Wine
    3. Cereal
    4. Jolly Roger
    5. Ink
    6. Gun Powder
    7. Chicken from before
    8. Dusty Book
    9. Breath Mints
    When it's all over and stand up, use Stan's card in 
the little fire below it.

15. Return to where the crew is -- Monkey Island!  Now how
do you get there?

16. First, go back to the Gun Room, and get more gunpowder,
shove it in the nozzle, use the rope on the front, for the
fuse, and use the fire on it.  Use the pot, and jump into
the front of the cannon.

17. Congrats!  You finished part 2 already!


Part Three
----------------------------------------------------------
1. Stand up (Ouch), and grab the banana on the coast - walk
into the jungle.

2. Walk north, until you see a fork in the river, there is
two circle-shaped rocks ontop of eachother called the River
Fork.

3. Pick up the stone and note on the rock.

4. Climb up the footholds, and find a sea-saw type thing,
you'll need to Pull it twice, and pick up the letter.

5. Climb up the other footholds, and tell Herman Toothrot
to go away, push the rock on the ledge.

6. Walk back to the south beach, and gather the bananas 
that fell in the "incident".

7. Walk back to the West around the mountain to the little
lookout.

8. Push the cannon and pick up the spyglass.  Tell Toothrot
to go away, and pick up the cannon ball, gun powder, and 
rope, leave.
    
9. Walk to the nearest beach, and snatch the note.  Tell 
Toothrot to go away AGAIN.

10. Walk to the river fork, stand next to the dam of rocks,
and use the gunpowder on the dam, then use theflint and 
cannonball to create a spark and make a river.

11. Go to the new pond you made, and grab the rope from
the dead guy.  Tell Toothrot to go away, and pick up the
note.

12. Go to the crack next to the south beach, and place
a rope on the strong branch, climb down, do the same 
with the stump, climb down, grab the paddles, and climb
back up.  Got that?

13. Go to the south beach, and use the oars in the 
rowboat.

14. Go north east, around the small mountain, north, and 
park it at the nearest beach.

15. Go to the jungle, and go to the three small huts 
(the cannibal village (CV)).

16. Go to the far left, and pick up the bananas in the
bowl of fruit.

17. Try to leave, and get captured by the Cannibals,
use option number one, and don't give them anything. 

18. When they put you in the jail hut, notice the
banana picker.  DON't GET IT!  Instead, pick up the skull,
and climb through the opening.

19. Return to the boat, and go to the south beach.

20. Walk to the jungle, then to the monkey (The grey
object moving around).  Give the monkey all of your
bananas, and he'll follow you anywhere.

21. With that in mind, go to the northeast, and to the 
clearing atop the small mountain mentioned before.

22. Walk to the right, and pull the middle nose on the
totem pole, walk away to the right, and the monkey
will hang there through the rest of the game with 
the gate open.

23. Walk inside, and grab the smallest doll. 

24. Go back to the CV, do the same process as before,
but give them the doll.

25. Go back to the jail hut, and grab the Banana Picker.

26. Leave, but on the way out meet Herman Toothrot, and
give him the banana picker in exchange for the key.

27. After leaving, go back to meet the natives again. 
Use the following options:
    1, 1, 4, 4, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, and give the leaflet
    to them.

28. After getting the head, go to where you got the doll,
and use the key in the giant monkey's ear.

29. Enter his mouth, and use the head.  Follow his nose
until you get to the ghost ship.

30. Talk to the head and use these options:
    2, 2, 2, 2, 2.

31. Use the necklace and walk onto the ghost ship.

32. Walk to the hatch.

33. Walk through the passage, and pick up the ghost
feather beside one of the chickens.

34. Walk back, and use the feather on the foot of the
sleeping ghost, grab the grog, go up the ladder, and 
on the door to the far left.  Use the compass Stan 
gave you to get the key.  

35. Go back down the hatch, through the passage, and
open up the hatch on the floor.

36. Climb down, and put some grog in the rats dish,
grab some grease, and go up to the main deck.  

37. Use the grease on the door to the right, and open
it.

38. Grab the tools behind the guard, and go to where
the ghost chickens are.  Use the tools on the crate,
when it's open, look inside to grab the root.

39. Return to the main deck, and leave the ship, and
somehow your at the cannibal village.  

40. After you get the root juice, walk to the jungle,
and whalla, your back at the ship.

41. Get more information on the wedding from the
pirate, and convince your crew to go back to Melee
Island.

42. Finished!


Last Part
------------------------------------------------------
1. Walk to the church (Inbetween the jail and 
convenience store), killing every ghost in your way.

2. Once there, interupt the wedding.

3. Use the following options:
   3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1.

4. After he knocks you around, pick up the root beer
bottle and use it on him.

5. You won the game.
