******************************************** *Bust A Move 2: Dance Dance Tengoku Mix FAQ* * by * * Joel Alambra * * v 1.0 * ******************************************** ----------- How to Play ----------- Just like part one, you input the arrow commands and/or button commands (if you chose Mix) before pressing the correct button or arrow (if you chose Easy) on the fourth beat. The input commands don't have to be on beat, but the last input has to be on the fourth beat. -------------- Styles of Play -------------- In part two you have a choice of picking Easy, Normal, or Mix (hard) after choosing your character. If you choose Easy, all the commands will be done using arrows. If you choose Normal, the input commands are like part one. Arrows and then X or O on the fourth beat. If you choose Mix, the input commands are a combination of the arrows, X, O, Triangle, and Square. ------- Attacks ------- Each character can attack up to two times. To attack press the correct button on the fourth beat. If you choose Normal or Mix mode the attack is the R1 button. If you choose Easy mode the attack is the O button. The number of bubbles in the lower left corner and lower right corner are the number of attacks remaining for player 1 and player 2, respectively. ---------------- Dodging/Blocking ---------------- All attacks can be blocked or dodged. To dodge press the correct button on the fourth beat. If in Normal or Mix mode press the R2 button. If in Easy mode press the X button. ---------- Reflecting ---------- Instead of dodging or blocking an attack you can reflect the opponent's attack back at an opponent. To reflect an attack press the correct button on the fourth beat. If you choose Normal or Mix mode the reflect is the R1 button. If you choose Easy mode the reflect is the O button. Attacks can be reflected back and fourth until someone screws up or dodges. Reflects do not use up an attack on your part. ------------------------------------ The Bars in the Center of the Screen ------------------------------------ While playing, you'll notice that there are three bars in the bottom center of the screen. The green, red, and blue bars represents the players' cool, chillin, and freeze. The bars can be anywhere from 1 to 3 blocks high. A bar is added if a cool, chllin, or freeze is done by either player. The bar goes back to 1 if it's already at a height of 3. The bars act as a type of lottery system. If the bars are all aligned (say they're all at a height of 2) the next person to complete a dance sequence is awared a lot of points. ---------- Characters ---------- The following is the order of characters on the selection screen: Heat Comet Shorty Strike Tsutomu Capoeira Bi-O Hiro Kitty-N Kelly Columbo Robo-Z Gold Pander Sushi Boy McLoad Chichi & Sally Michael Doi Hustle Kong ------------- 1-Player Path ------------- When in one player you can traverse the following path from left to right: X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X Should you traverse along the following path: O O O O O X X X O O O X X X X X You will play against Pander after Robo-Z Gold. You go along this path if you get high scores in the stages. ------- Secrets ------- I got all these characters playing on Normal mode and traversing the Pander path, therefore, I'm not sure if you can get these characters on other paths or modes. Columbo: Beat the game with Shorty Robo-Z Gold: Beat the game on Mix mode Pander: Beat the game with Robo-Z Gold ChiChi & Sally: Beat the game with Capoeira Sushi Boy, McLoad, Michael Doi, and Hustle Kong: Not sure, if you beat the game with the 10 base characters you should get them. ----------- Other Stuff ----------- Characters not returning from Bust a Move 1 are Frida, Hamm, Pinky, and Gas-O. Either that or they're really well hidden. Getting Pander allows you to play on his stage. Robo-Z Gold's stage can only be played on if at least one person is Robo-Z Gold Press O for the default outfit and Triangle for the alternative outfit. ---------- Legal Crap ---------- You may not steal any info from this FAQ and use it as your own.
