RUNAWAY - A ROAD ADVENTURE WALKTHROUGH BY NINJAZ

First i want to thank Pendulo Studios for making this excellent adventure game!
I heard some rumours that Runaway 2 should be released in 2005, i realy hope so :)
I used about 3-4 days on writing this walkthrough.
When i was stuck in the game first time i played it i used this german walkthrough:

Ive written this walkthrough in a way that everyone should understand it easy (i think)

LEVEL 1
..........
After watching all the movie sequence u start in Gina's hospital room.
First Grab the glass and the pills that are lying on the table.
Then get the sheet thats lying on the other bed and grab Gina's bag thats
on top of the locker, go to your inventory and examine the bag, you find
some matches. Examine the map that are on the bathroom door. Enter the
bathroom. Open the wastebasket and you will find a marker pen, and take
the bottle of alcohol that is over the sink. Leave the bathroom and go
out the window.
Now u are in the store room. Take the book thats lying on top of the file
cabinet and take the head from the human body. Grab a empty medical chart
from the file cabinet. Take the pillows, the spraycan bottle and a syringe
from the shelf to the left. Go out the window and back to the hospital room.
Examine Gina's bag again and you will get a blond wig. Use the blond wig with
the head you got in the store room, then use the pillows on the empty bed.
Now it looks like theres a person sleeping in the bed. Examine Gina's medical
chart, then use the syringe with the bottle of alcohol and finaly use the the
syringe with alcohol on the marker pen. Now use the marker pen on the empty
medical chart to make a fake medical chart. Use the fake medical chart on the
chart on Gina's bed. Now you got Gina's chart, use it on the chart on the other
bed. Then go into the bathroom and watch the movie sequence.
Now talk to Gina, but she is still asleep, you need to wake her up. Look in the
medical book you got from the store room. Since the shower aint working u need
to get water from somewhere else. Use the spray can with the fire alarm in the
roof. Now the sprinklers starts pouring out water and Gina wakes up. Watch the
movie sequence.
LEVEL 2

After watching all the movie sequence u start in a restoration laboratory.
Talk to Susan about everything. Go to the right and take the talcum powder brush
and take a varnish from the briefcase on the bench. Go back to the left and look
at the shelf with all the objects that are going to be restored. Use the crucifix
with the shelf. Go out of the room.
In the hallway, go down the stairs and talk to the janitor. He will give u his
card. After that someone is calling him on the cellphone, then he will go into the
lab upstairs. Go upstairs again. Go into the restoration laboratory and out to the
hallway again. Now Willy (the janitors name) have left the analysis laboratory.
Use the varnish with the control panel outside the analysis laboratory. Use the
phone to call Willy. He will come upstairs and go inside the analysis laboratory.
Go into the restoration laboratory and out again. Use the talcum powder brush on
the control panel. Enter the code 8137. Now your inside the analysis laboratory.
Take the key to the left. Look at the thermal chamber then try to open it. Brian
says you have to push the button to get it open, push the button. Choose a name on
the list, it doesnt mather which name u choose. Exit the analysis laboratory.
Enter Clive's office. Take the books on the desk. Use the key you found inside the
analysis laboratory in the crack on the desk. Take the voice recorder from the
hidden safe. Use the key in the crack again to close the hidden safe. Leave Clive's
office. Go into the restoration laboratory. Use the voice recorder on Susan.
Leave the room and enter the analysis laboratory. Use the voice recorder with the
button on the thermal chamber. The battery is flat so you need to recharge it.
Go to the right and take the ladle. Use the battery with the ladle and use the
ladle containing the battery with the liquid nitrogen tank. Use the battery with
the voice recorder then use the voice recorder with the thermal chamber button.
Take the mayan mask. Use the mayan prying tool (You got the mayan prying tool when
u put the crucifix on the shelf, it looks like a stick with a claw on it) with the
mayan mask to get the ruby out. Leave the analysis laboratory
Enter the restoration laboratory and use the ruby with the laser thats standing on
the table to the right. Leave the room. Use the coffee machine to the left, but
its out of coffee. Talk to willy about that the coffee machine is empty. He wont
refill it. Go to the mayan exhibiton and look at the statue that have alot of pots
and bowls infront of it. Look at the pots and Brian will find a bowl with something
that looks like coffee beans. Leave the mayan exhibition. Give the bowl to Willy,
but he wont take it. Go upstairs and enter the restoration laboratory. Use the bowl
with the electric lathe to crush the beans. Give the bowl to Willy, but he still
wont take it. Go upstairs. Look at the wastebasket under the fire extinguisher. Take
the empty package of coffee thats in the wastebasket. Use the bowl with the crushed
beans with the empty package of coffee. Give the package of coffee to Willy. Now
he will finaly refill the coffe machine. Go upstairs and use the coffee machine
to get a cup of coffee. Go into the restoration laboratory and give the cup of
coffee to Susan. Watch the movie sequence. Go into the analysis laboratory.
LEVEL 3

After watching all the movie sequence u start in a backroom of an old house.
Take the bellows thats located to the left of the safe and take the bottle of cleanser
on the shelf. Take the rag, the crowbar and the coat rack peg thats located to the
right of the shelf. Use the bottle of cleanser on the rag, then use the rag with the
window over the freezer. Open the freezer lid and unplug the freezer. Now the ice
in the freezer will melt. Open the freezer drain then move the freezer. Use the
crowbar on the trap door, open the trap door and exit through the trap door.
After watching the movie sequence, search in the trunk by the bus. U will find
a broken basketball. Enter the bus. Take the sunglasses, the handheld vacuum cleaner
under the bed and a lipstick from 1 from the right-hand shelf. Go to the back of the
bus. Talk to Carla about everything. Use the handheld vacuum cleaner with the grating
on the floor. Now u will get a pill. Take the needle and thread thats located at the
boots. Use the needle and thread with the basketball then use the bellows on the
basketball. Leave the bus. Go to the path to the right. Go to all the unvisited areas.
Go to the hangar and try to open the barn doors. Now Brian are inside the barn.
Use the pill with the beercan when the muscle dude puts it on the barrel, but it wont
work. Leave the barn and go back to the drag queen bus. Talk to Lula. Throw the
basketball to Lula. Now your back at the hangar. Now use the pill with the beercan
thats standing on the barrel. Now you have a helicopter for the getaway.
Take the peanut butter on the barrel. Use the crowbar on the motorcycle. Take the foot
rest that fell off the motorcycle. Go back to the drag queen bus and enter the bus.
Look at the axle. Use the motorcycle foot rest on the axle. Now u made a handle. Turn
the makeshift crank and the doors to the bus will close. Examine the pocket on the bus
door. Now you will find a key. Go to back of the bus and use the key on the refrigerator.
Now you will get some butter. Go to the front of the bus and turn the makeshift crank
to open the bus doors. Leave the bus.
Go to the airplane graveyard and take the helmet and the bullet belt. Leave the
airplaine graveyard and go to the old abandoned train car. Enter the train car.
Take a screw from the bucket. Look at the barrels. Use the crowbar with the barrels
and u will get a bag of peanuts. Leave the train car and go back to the thugs´ cabin.
Take the bucket thats standing under the cabin. Enter the cabin. Use the butter with
the helmet and then the peanuts with the helmet. Use the helmet with the freezer.
Now you have some peanut butter. Leave the cabin and go back to the abandoned train car.
Use the helmet containing the peanut butter with the shed. The ants will eat the shed.
Take the explosives that was inside the shed. Enter the train car. Use the screw with
the coat rack peg. Use the makeshift corkscrew with the barrel labeled XXX, then use
the bucket with the barrel labeled XXX, then again use the makeshift corkscrew with
the barrel labeled XXX. Take the bucket and leave the train car.
Go to the oil well. Use the sunglasses with the puddle of oil on the ground. Use the
explosives with the oil well. Go back to the drag queen bus. When Mariola put down her
sunglasses, use the sunglasses you have with her's so they will switch. Take the tanning
oil. Use the lipstick with the bucket of gunpowder then use the lipstick with the bullet
belt. Enter the bus and take the pile of lipstick. Use the pile of lipstick on the bucket
with gunpowder then use the lipsticks with the bullet belt. Leave the bus.
Go to the airplane graveyard. Use the machinegun, but it wont move. Use the tanning oil
on the machine gun then use the bullet belt on the machine gun.
LEVEL 4

After watching all the movie sequence u start inside a hotel. Talk to Sushi about
everything. After finish talking go to the bank. Get the bank stamp from the desk and
the stapler on the shelf. Exit the bank. Go into the sheriff's office. Take the firewood
thats located to the right of the cell. Leave the sheriff's office. Look at the wagon to
the left of the sheriff's office. Try to take the strap, but you need something to cut it
with. Go into the saloon. Take the flower pot thats located under the stairs. Get the
pruning shears from the gardening shed. Go upstairs. Talk to Saturn about everything.
Use the catapult. Go out to the balcony and take the sanding block lying on the floor.
Exit the saloon and leave the town.
Visit all the unknown places. Go to the crater and talk to Joshua about everything.
Look at the rotor on the machine. Leave the crater. Go to mama Dorita's house. Take the
stone thats lying on the ground infront of the well. Talk to the big dude (Oscar) about
everything. Take the vessel thats located to the left of the ladder. Leave mama Dorita's
house and go to the abandoned mine. Take the oil can. Leave the abandoned mine and head
back to Douglasville. Use the pruning shears on the wagon to get the strap. Go back to
the crater and use the strap with the rotor on the machine, but it wont work. Use the strap
with the stapler. Use the strap on the rotor again. Brian will give the strap to Joshua.
Leave the crater and go back. Joshua says he need a number ten wrench to attach the strap
to the motorcycle. Leave the crater and head back to Douglasville. Enter the saloon and go
upstairs to Saturn. Ask him if you can borrow a number ten wrench. Go to the tool board and
take the number ten wrench. Saturn will throw it out in the streets. Exit the saloon and
Brian discovers that the number ten wrench is in the trough. Go into the saloon again and
out to the balcony. Throw the flower pot at the streets. Exit the saloon and Brian will pick
up the number ten wrench. Leave the town and go to the crater. Give the number ten wrench to
Joshua. Leave the crater and go back. Now Joshua have attached the strap to the motorcycle.
Now you need some gas. Leave the crater and head back to douglasville. Enter the saloon, go
upstairs and ask Saturn about getting some gas. Give the stone you found at the well to
Saturn. Use the sanding block on the stone and give the stone to Saturn again. Use the amber
on the stone and give it to Saturn again. Use the oil can with the water tank, then ask
Saturn if you can get some water. Use the oil can with the bottle. Fill the 50 cc tube with
gas, then use the 50 cc tube on the 30 cc tube. Use the 30 cc tube on the gas tank. Then
use the 50 cc tube on the 30 cc tube. Fill up the 50 cc tube again with gas, then use the
50 cc tube on the 30 cc tube. Now you have 40 cc of gas. Use the 50 cc tube that now
contains 40 cc of gas on the bottle. Exit the saloon and leave the town. Go to the crater.
Use the bottle with gas on the motorcycle. Now you have to play some tones on the machine.
The right combination are: Do So Mi Ti La. The notes are: C G E B A. Watch the movie
sequence. Take Joshua's helmet. Open the camping tent and you will get a rope and a miner's
light. Leave the crater and go back to Douglasville.
Enter the saloon an go upstairs to Saturn. Give the helmet to Saturn. Take the blowtorch.
Fill the oil can with water. Leave the saloon and go to the derailed locomotive.
Use the oil can with the tank opening on the locomotive. Return to the saloon and fill up
the oil can with water again. Repeat this five times. Enter into the driver's cab on the
locomotive. Use the firewood with the boiler then use the blowtorch with the boiler.
Turn the wheel on the locomotive controls so you increase boiler pressure. Pull the lever
that activates the steam outlet. Exit the driver's cab. Take the key that came out of the
smokestack. Leave the derailed locomotive and head to the sheriff's office. Use the key on
the cell. Enter the cell. Examine the briefcase and you will get liniment. Exit the cell and
leave the sheriff's office and go to the bank. Look at the hole in the floor and the bucket
of paint. Leave the bank and head for the hotel. Talk to Sushi about everything. Go into the
saloon and upstairs. Activate the crane controls so the statue will be lowered onto the
catapult. Pull the lever on the catapult. Leave the saloon and go to the bank. Go down to the
basement. Try to open the safe, but it wont work. Turn the numbered dial on the safe. You need
to find the combination to the safe. Exit the basement and leave the bank. Go to the hotel and
ask Sushi about the safe. Go back to the sheriff's office and examine the briefcase in the cell
again. You will get a stethoscope. Exit the cell and leave the sheriff's office. Go back to the
bank and enter the basement. Use the stethoscope on the safe. The combination to the safe is:
85 to the right, 29 to the left and 54 to the right. Now you will get the map to the Hopi
village. Exit the basement and leave the bank. Enter the saloon and search the gardening shed.
You will find some tobacco leaves. Exit the saloon and leave the town. Go to the abandoned mine.
Try to enter the mine and move the rock, but it wont work. Leave the abandoned mine and head
for mama Dorita's house. Talk to Oscar about everything. Use the tobacco leaves with the
liniment. Use the bank stamp with the vessle then use the tobacco leaves with the makeshift
mortal and pestle. Now you will get some chewing tobacco. Give the chewing tobacco to Oscar.
Talk to Oscar about getting help moving the rock thats blocking the mine entrance.
Enter the mine.
LEVEL 5
..........
After watching all the movie sequence u start on a cliff side. Take the long piece of wood.
Take the mining tool that was under the piece of wood. Look at the skeleton. Take a bone
from the skeleton. Use the bone with the mining tool. Use the makeshift mining tool on the
nail. The nail might be alittle hard to see, but its to the left of the entrance in the wooden
pole. Use the nail with the edge of the cliff. Use the rope with the nail.
Now you meet Gina again. After talking with her go to the cave to the right. Take the tomahawk
thats located at one of the rocks to the right. Leave the cave. Go into the door to the far left,
then go into the next door. Now you can choose between 2 doors, go into the door to the left and
finaly go into the other door again. Now you are at the rope. Use the tomahawk on the rope.
Brian will go down and get the rope. Go to the unexplored area to the left. Use the crucifix in
the monolith's mouth. Take the bush to the left. Use the branch you took from the bush in the
monolith's mouth, then use the crucifix in the monolith's mouth again. Enter the cave.
After watching the movie sequence, head back to Gina. Use the tomahawk on the long piece of wood.
Use the two pieces of wood on Gina's leg.
LEVEL 6
..........
After watching all the movie sequence u start inside mama Dorita's house. Talk to mama Dorita
about everything. Go and see Gina. Talk to Gina about everything. Leave mama Dorita's house and
head to Douglasville. Enter the saloon and talk to Rutger about everything. Give the tomahawk
to Rutger. Now your back at mama Dorita's house. Talk to mama Dorita about everything. Leave
mama Dorita's house and head back to Douglasville. Enter the saloon and talk to Rutger about
everything. Now you will get some pods from the branch. Go to the sheriff's office and enter the
cell. Examine the briefcase and you will get a scalpel. Exit the cell and leave the sheriff's
office. Enter the hotel and talk to Sushi about everything. Go to the right-hand-side and try
to take the rifle, but Brian wont take it. Not sure if this is nessesary, but you will get it
later on. Go back to Sushi's work area and then go downstairs. Go to the fireplace and take the
poker. Use the scalpel with the pods. Use the scalpel with the fireplace, then use the scalpel
with the pods again. Now you will get some seeds. Leave the hotel and enter the saloon. Give
the seeds to Rutger. Now your back at mama Dorita's house. When your at the alter, repeat what
mama Dorita says.
After watching the movie sequence, talk to Gina about everything. Leave mama Dorita's house and
head to Douglasville. After talking to Sushi about everything, exit the hotel, enter the saloon
and go upstairs. Talk to Saturn about everything. Exit the saloon and leave the town. Go to
Johnny's trailer. Try to open the trailer door, but its closed. Use the poker on the trailer door.
Brian will go inside the trailer. Look twice at the nun's habit thats hanging to the right of the
door. Exit the trailer. Examine the tray on the trailer door. You will get a bank brochure. Leave
the trailer place and head back to Douglasville and enter the hotel. Give the bank brochure to
Sushi. Leave the hotel and go to the derailed locomotive. Enter the driver's cab of the
locomotive. Pull the lever that activates the steam outlet. Exit the driver's cab. Take the
sheriff's badge. Leave the derailed locomotive and go back to the hotel. Talk to Sushi. Exit the
hotel and leave the town. Head back to Johnny's trailer and enter the trailer. Take the nun's
habbit and exit the trailer. After watching the movie sequence go to mama Dorita's house.
Give the sheriff's badge to Oscar. Leave the hotel and enter the sheriff's office. Take the bag
marked with jail. The bag contains Gustav and Feodor's stuff. Leave the sheriff's office and
head back to the hotel. Give the bag with Gustav and Feodor's stuff to Sushi. Leave the hotel
and go talk to Oscar. Head back into the hotel and talk to Sushi. When Sushi asks who your
favorite director is, answer Woody Allen. When she asks which movie you like best, answer
Manhattan Murder Mystery. After talking to Sushi you will get a MP3 recorder. Leave the hotel
and go to the sheriff's office. Use the MP3 recorder on Gustav and Feodor. Exit the sheriff's
office a leave town. Go to mama Dorita's house and talk to Gina. Leave mama Dorita's house and
head back to Douglasville. Enter the hotel and give the MP3 recorder to Sushi.
Now you can just sit back and enjoy the ending.
