Zauron's Oddworld Adventures 2 for Color GameBoy Walkthrough. Final Version - Walkthrough completed, all levels, all 31 Mudokons. This FAQ was written entirely by me, with no help from anyone. This walkthrough is for normal mode. I don't know what's different about easy mode, but if something in your game doesn't match my description and you are using easy mode, that's why... Some notes on this walkthrough: At the beginning I try to be nice and give you lots of details (jump here, push right here, etc.) but this doesn't last long. This is because I expect by the middle of the game you should be able to jump over pits, roll under obstacles, etc. without me having to tell you. At that point I will use phrases like "go left 2 screens" and expect you to figure out the details. I still recommend you give the manual a once over too. Each major section of the game is listed in all caps such as --- NECRUM ---, and each separate level is listed in small caps such as --- Top Right Door ---. To the right of the label is the number of Mudokons you can find. For the separate levels the number represents how many Mudokons are in just that level, and for the major section the number represents how many Mudokons are in the entire section. To make it easier to keep track if you missed any Mudokons, each Mudokon you save I will list a code such as (M3:R28). This means you should have saved 3 Mudokons so far and that there are 28 remaining to be saved. Press Start during game play to see how many you have saved, how many are remaining, and how many are left on the level you are currently on. I also end the paragraph every time a Mudokon is saved, so that you can quickly scan through the guide and find any particular Mudokon you missed by looking at the end of each paragraph. There are 31 total Mudokons to save. I'm really not sure what happens if you don't save them, I've only ever beat it with 100% of them saved. Note that you don't have to do the levels in the order I present them, but then your Mudokon numbers won't match mine some times. --- NECRUM --- 4M After the intro, run right (push right) one screen and you'll find meet the first of 31 Mudokons in the game. Say Hi to him (hold A and press up), then tell him to follow you (hold A and press right). Now go right another screen to see a bird portal. There is a wall in the way though. Stand in front of the right side wheel, which should make your follower stand in front of the left side wheel. Tell the Mudokon to "work" (hold A and press down) then hold up to use the wheel you are in front of. Keep holding up until the wall goes away. Now hold down select to chant and open the bird portal, and rescue the Mudokon (M1:R30). Walk up to the pillar, then push and hold up to climb up on to it. Run off the right side of it and on to the next screen. This screen teaches you about sneak mode. TAP (don't hold) select to enter sneak mode. Now make your way to the right. Don't step on the little worm things crawling along the ground. When you get up to one, stand still until it crawls past you, then continue on. It won't matter here if you step on one, but it's good practice for later on. Once you get to the next screen, sneak past the worm to the small hole. Be careful not to step on the worm or you will wake up the sleeping fleech on the ceiling. Now hop (push B) over the hole and the fleech will wake up, but will fall in the hole trying to get to you. Stand in front of the garbage chute and push up to enter it. You will pop out up above. Head left one screen. Push down to curl into a ball, then continue pushing left to roll under the signs until you get back to the first screen. Now you can push and hold up to climb up a few ledges and find another Mudokon. Hold down select to chant and rescue him (M2:R29). Lower yourself back down (stand at the edge and hold down), roll all the way back to the right, then tap B to jump up to the upper ledge. Now stand in front of the garbage chute and press up to return to the bottom section. Walk up to the right edge of the hole and press down to lower yourself down. Roll to the left a bunch of screens until you see two Mudokons and a bird portal. Hold down select to rescue them (M3&4:R27). Now roll all the way back to the right again, and raise yourself up out of the hole. Head right one screen and you will see a Slig and a soulstorm brew machine. Stand in front of the brew machine and push up to drink some brew. Now press A once to fart, and IMMEDIATLY hold select to start chanting. Keep holding it and eventually you will have possessed the fart. Now use your direction keys to steer the fart up to the Slig and push A again to make it explode and kill the Slig. Stand under the ledge the Slig was standing on and pull yourself up. Keep holding up to get to the next screen. Raise yourself up onto the ledge with the moving motion detection beam and the garbage chute. Now be careful not to move when the beam is over you. When it passes you, take a step then stop and wait for it to pass you again. Keep doing this until you are standing in front of the garbage chute and push up to enter it. --- PARAMITE VAULT --- 3MJump into the chute here to pop into the background. Now here you have 4 doorways you can pass in any order you choose. We'll start with the closest doorway, the one in the middle right next to the chute you popped out of. --- Middle Door --- 0M First, run left and fall right off the ledge there. Trust me, you'll be saved from the big plummet by a chute at the bottom. Raise yourself up onto the ledge here and push A to slap the lock open. This will grant you the ability to turn invisible for a short time the next time you chant. Lower yourself down, chant for a second (hold select) to turn invisible, then go to the right side and raise yourself up to the level of the paramite. He won't attack you because you are invisible, so go ahead and raise yourself up one more time to the next screen. Your invisibility should wear off about now. On this screen raise yourself up and slap this lock to get another dose of invisibility power. Using the blinking arrow as a guide, raise yourself up to the next screen and jump in the chute. Chant to turn yourself invisible, then jump over to the Paramite's platform and jump again to hang from a ledge, then pull yourself up. Pull yourself up a few more platforms to another chute and jump in. Get to the lock here and slap it, then jump in the top chute. Now enter the bottom door to return to the main room. Next we will try the lower right hand door. --- Lower Right Door --- 1M Chant to possess one of the paramites. Now push down to lower yourself down the string, and head left. Use the A button to eat the worms on the ground here. Keep heading left until you come across an elevator and another string. Push up to climb the string, then jump (press B) to pull the pull ring here which will lower the elevator. Head left again, jump over the hole and lower yourself down using the string on the edge of the cliff. Go right, up the string, and jump to pull the ring. Go back down, head right, and use the A button to eat the lowest hanging fleech (you can't attack while jumping, but you can get this one from ground level). Now run left and suicide by running off the edge of the cliff, returning control to abe. Now sneak left (tap select to sneak) under the sleeping fleeches until you get to the hanging rock that blocks your path. Now you to be quick if you want to survive this part. Quickly duck, roll left 2 spaces, turn around, and push up to pull yourself up before the fleech eats you. Keep holding up to climb up to the next screen. Chant to save the Mudokon here (M5:R26). Now climb back down and jump left and start running to avoid the fleech. When you get to the elevator platform, stop and push up to raise it to the upper level. Slap the lock here, then go back down and head left again. Stop at this elevator, lower it all the way down, then run to the right. Keep running and do a running jump (tap B while running) to hang from the lowest ledge in this room, then quickly push up to hoist yourself up. Turn around and jump from platform to platform to reach the lock, then slap it. Turn back to the right and jump back to try to keep away from the fleeches, and drop down to the bottom when you can. Then run left and use the elevator to get back to the upper level. Head right, roll under the hanging rock, sneak past the sleeping fleech, and enter the newly opened door. Now raise yourself up to the upper right hand door. --- Upper Right Door --- 2M You start out in the background. Go left one screen and pull the lever here. Keep heading left and jump into the chute. As soon as you land, turn around, move right one step to the edge, and jump to the right. You will land on a hidden platform. Keep heading right (stop and roll when you get blocked) until you come to two Mudokons and a bird portal. Chant to rescue them then head back left (M6&7:R24). Head back left and jump over to the first platform you landed on. Raise yourself up one platform, then jump to the right to hang from a smaller platform. Pull yourself up, jump right, drop down and slap the lock. Jump back to the right and lower yourself down, then drop into the pit you flew up from. Your fall will be broken by the chute you originally jumped in. Head right one screen and jump up and down a few times to wake up the fleeches in the foreground. Head left 2 screens and pull the lever here. Chant to possess the Paramite in the foreground, and have him head right and eat the fleeches with his A button attack. Then have him fall into the pit to die. As Abe, head all the way back to the right and jump in the chute to get to the foreground. Head left, slap the lock, jump the pit, slap the next lock, SNEAK left, jump into the chute, and enter the door to exit this area. Now it's time to tackle the bottom left door. --- Lower Left Door --- 0M Drop down and roll to the right. Possess the Paramite in the background and have him jump to pull the ring. Now your going to have to navigate a dangerous maze with this Paramite, but if it dies another one appears for you to possess. Head right with the Paramite, lower yourself down with the strings, and jump over the two pits while avoiding the falling rocks (use timing). Head up using the string, jump left (avoid the rock again), up, then back right again and pull this ring. Go right, jump the pits and avoid the rocks, and pull this ring. Go right one more screen and pull this final ring. Now you can unposess (hold select) or kill off the Paramite and regain control of Abe. Have Abe just run/roll/jump right and slap any locks he sees along the way. Go through the exit door to leave this area. A new door will open on the upper left, go through it now to go to the Scrab Vault. --- SCRAB VAULT --- 2M This is pretty similar to how the Paramite vault worked. There are four doors, top, left, right, and bottom. Enter the doors in any order to complete this section. I'll start with the right side door. --- Right Door --- 1M Run off of the left and fall into the pit. Head right one screen. Turn sneak mode on, and sneak over to the chute to avoid waking the fleech. Jump into it, then immediatly run and roll to the right (push down while running to instantly start rolling without having to stop first). In the left screen as soon as you can tap up to stand up again and jump left while running to grab the ledge there. Haul yourself up, turn around, and jump over then run to the right. Drop down, slap the trap, then roll left again and jump in the chute here. You'll shoot up to the first screen. Jump into this chute then head left. In this screen there is a secret area above you. Take one step at a time and jump straight up until you jump up to the secret room (it's at about the half way point). You have to face to the right in order to grab the ledge up there. Haul yourself up and chant to free the Mudokon (M8:R23). Drop back down and head left. Jump left over the pit, then lower yourself down to the lever. Prepare for some more fleech dodging. Pull the lever, run right, slap the trap, jump in the chute, and keep running right to the first screen again. Lower yourself down carefully, then walk up to the edge and jump right to grab the edge and haul up to the exit door. Once you're back in the main room, go through the top door. --- Top Door --- 0M Run off the left ledge and fall down to the lower screen (saved by yet another chute). Run to the right, slap the lock, then run back left and jump into the chute before the fleeches eat you. Now head right and jump in this chute. Walk to the lever and stand to the RIGHT of it, then pull it to open the trap door. Just when the fleeches are climbing up to get you, run left to drop down. Quickly run left and stop on the left side of the lever, then pull it and immediatly run right to fall through and grab a ledge. Pull yourself up, then chant to turn yourself invisible. Drop down and run right while invisible. Roll under the rock hangings then on the next screen sneak to the lock to avoid waking the fleech until you're ready. Stand to the right of the lock then slap it and immediatly run and jump left to grab on to the ledge. Pull up and then keep running left and go through the exit door. Once you're back in the main room drop down and go through the bottom door. --- Bottom Door --- 0M Jump up on to the ledge, run right, jump over the pit, sneak right, drop down, sneak left and sneak right up to the slam door. When you step on the space right next to the slam door it will open. Keep going left (the door will close behind you) and position yourself just to the left of the lock and face right. Now turn sneak mode off (just tap select again), slap the lock and immediatly run right. If you're quick enough you will open the slam door, run through it, and it will close behind you trapping the fleeches. Head back up and to the left to where the Scrab was. Now walk up to the edge of the ledge you are on, and turn around. Quickly lower yourself down and run to the right. This should open the slam door, then shut it behind you just before the Scrab gores you. Slap the trap here, then chant to turn yourself invisible. Head left, up, then right and take the door to exit back to the main room. Take the left hand door now. --- Left Door --- 1M This level will teach you to hate Fleeches. Use a combination of sneaking and quick jumping to pull each of the levers in the rooms and exit through the door they open. It may take a few tries. Once you get to the room with the lock, turn sneak mode on then gently lower yourself down and sneak right past the lock. Raise yourself up then turn around and jump up again to find a secret room. Chant to save the Mudokon here (M9:R22). Lower yourself back down then jump in the chute. Slap the lock here, then jump back into the shoot. Quickly drop down, slap this lock, then run right and exit through the door before the fleeches kill you. When you're back on the main screen take the chute to the foreground and enter the new door. This will take you to the Brewery. --- THE BREWERY --- 7M --- Level 1 --- 3M Pull the lever here to summon a slig. Chant to possess him. Head right, shoot the slig here (push B), then push A to pull the lever. Take the elevator up, head left, and pull this lever to free Abe. Chant again to kill the slig. As Abe, head right, jump over the hole, keep heading right and drop down to the lower screen. Ignore the chute here and head down one more screen to a Mudokon. Stand in front of the right side wheel, then tell the Mudokon "hi" and "work" and push up to turn your own wheel at the same time to open the slam door. Then chant to save him (M10:R21). Drop down to the grenade machine and touch it to make a grenade fall out. Duck and roll over the grenade to pick it up. Head back up to the chute you ignored earlier and jump in. Head right one screen. The instant the screen changes, stop moving. Tap A to throw a grenade and it will destroy the chant suppressor. Chant to possess the slig, then have him say "hi" (A+up) to the voicelock device to open the slam door. Chant to kill him. Now sneak past the motion detector beam (take it one step at a time) and ignore the lever up here (it just summons another slig). Drop down and head left to meet a Mudokon. Tell him "hi" and "follow me," then head right two screens to another Mudokon and a bird portal. Chant to save them then pull the lever and exit through the door (M11&12:R19). --- Level 2 --- 4M Head left to a room with some platforms and a floating mine. Duck and roll to the right side platforms avoiding the mine. When it passes, jump up and haul yourself up to the ledge. Then stop and wait for the mine to pass again (you are safe while standing on this first ledge). When it passes, raise up to the top platform, take one step to the left, then jump straight up again to find a secret room. Chant to save this Mudokon (M13:R18). Lower yourself back down, take one step left to drop to the lower platform, then push down to hang from this ledge (but don't drop down). While hanging from this ledge the mine won't get you. Wait until it passes then drop down and run off to the left. On this screen, jump up to the switch on the left side platform. Pull the switch then immediately push down to drop to the floor. A slig will appear, chant to possess him. Have him go right 4 screens to a voicelock. Tell it "hi" to open the slamdoor then chant to kill him. Have Abe head to that room and haul himself up to the screen above using the ledges there. Stand to the left of the switch up here, then pull it and immediately hold select to start chanting. You should be able to possess the flying slig here just before he gets you. Have the slig fly down the right side, left two screens, then up. Kill the slig here using grenades (push B to lob a grenade) then go up another screen and kill this slig too. Chant to kill the flying slig. Have Abe climb back down, go left 2 screens, then jump in the chute. Enter the door labeled 'A' then chant to free the Mudokon in here (M14:R17). Use timing to get past the electric walls (just wait till it disappears then run two steps, take them one at a time). Haul yourself up, pull the switch, and exit through the door. Now jump over and enter the 'B' door. Don't chant just yet or the Mudokon will die from the mines on the floor. Instead, get past the electric walls then run off the right side of the ledge to drop to the lower floor. Turn to the left, duck, roll one step left to the first mine. This mine blinks several times then makes a different ker-chunk noise and stops blinking for a second. Push A right after the ker-chunk noise to disable the mine (if you time it wrong you'll blow up). Roll left twice and disable the second mine. Now you can safely chant to save the Mudokon then exit through the door (M15:R16). Jump across to the 'C' door and enter it. Use timing and fall off the ledge avoiding the mine. Pull the lever then start chanting to possess the flying slig. Use it to destroy the mine (if it dies, just pull the lever and do it again). Go right one screen and kill the slig and the other mine, then chant to kill the flying slig. As Abe, jump up the right ledge and head right, then drop down. Time the electric wall on the left side and run to the left. Use the wheel here to open the door. Go back right and chant to save the Mudoken, then go through the door you opened and through the door labeled 'Exit' (M16:R15). --- Level 3 --- 0M Head left, then use the elevator to go up one screen. Roll to the left two screens avoiding the flying slig. Jump up to the ledge on the right side then roll right. Chant to possess the slig. Fly him left past Abe and blow up the mine on this screen with a grenade. Then go up and right to a voicelock, say some BS (A+left) to open the slam door. Head right and avoid the mine, then shoot it with a grenade to destroy it (if the mine gets you, you can use the lever to summon another slig to possess). Fly up a screen and kill the slig here, then up one more screen and kill this slig also. Chant to destroy the flying slig. Back as Abe, head left and take the elevator to its top position. Head left 2 screens, then hop across the pit and lower yourself down. Jump over to the right then roll right to return to the flying slig room. Jump over, pull the lever, then drop down the left. Duck into a ball and roll around until the slig starts to follow you. Make sure he is on the lower portion of the screen (and try not to let him kill you) then roll left one screen. Jump up, roll right, and possess him. Fly him right then down the elevator shaft to another voicelock. Say some more MB (A+right) to open the door. Chant to blow him up. As Abe, head left, up, right twice, then take the elevator down to the door you opened. Take the door, then go up the ledges to the other door and exit this section. I call the next part the Slig Barracks because it looks like the Slig Barracks from Abe's Exoddus (which this game is based on). --- SLIG BARRACKS --- 4M This section is divided into 4 doors accessible from chutes. I will call them the upper and lower left doors and the upper and lower right doors. To start with, take the chute closest to you on the left to get to the upper left door. --- Upper Left Door --- 1M This first part is tricky. Take two steps left (or if you are reapearing after dying, just stay where you are) then tap B to jump. While in the air keep holding left so that you will start running as soon as you land. When the screen changes, stop in front of the switch and press A to pull it. You must be very quick to pull the lever (which makes a slam door come up behind you) in order to avoid the Slog eating you, and it make take several tries. Once you're safe, chant to possess the slig above you. Have him head right and drop down, then go left and shoot the slog. Head right to the next screen and shoot the other slig, then chant to kill him. As Abe head up then right two screens. Turn on sneak mode (tap select) to sneak past the sleeping Slog and continue right. Jump the pit, then continue to a screen with a bone sack and some falling boxes. Roll to the right past the falling boxes (time it carefully, and don't worry that wall isn't really a wall) and you will roll through the wall to a room with a Mudokon. Hop over the small pit here and pull the lever to raise a platform, then chant to free the Mudokon (M17:R14). Head back left past the falling boxes and jump up to the ledge with the bone sack. Touch it to make a bone pop out, then duck to pick it up. Jump to the left and go left two screens to the sleeping slog room. Pull the lever to lower the elevator which will wake up to slog. Head back right, drop down, then left again. The instant you reenter the slog room, tap A to throw your bone which will distract the slog. Now raise yourself up using the ledge to the right of the elevator, then hop over and use the elevator to get to the exit door. After exiting, drop down and take the lower left door. --- Lower Left Door --- 1M Go right one screen and stop as soon as the screen changes. Duck and disable the flashing mine. Now run one step right, then immediately run to the left and on to the previous screen. This will wake the slig up but you should change screens before he has a chance to shoot you. Now the slig will start patrolling. Wait on this screen until he patrols over to the little spot in the upper right hand corner of the screen. When he does, hold select to chant and possess him, then chant again to explode him. Now you can safely go to the right and pull the lever there to raise the elevator. Ride the elevator down to the ledge below and enter the door there. Hop down to the small ledge below and pull the lever twice to stop both of the shredders. Chant to open the bird portal and rescue the Mudokon (M18:R13). Run and hop back up and enter the door to return to the previous area. Ride the elevator down and go right one screen. Turn on sneak mode and sneak to the edge to avoid the sleeping dog. Jump right and you will land an another ledge. Go right to a screen with falling boxes. You will have to time it to avoid the falling box while you run and jump to the opposite ledge. A bone will fall out of the bag there, duck and roll to pick it up, then run back to the previous screen (avoiding the falling box again). Now lower yourself down one screen from the ledge here. Duck and use one of the bones to blow up the mine on the ledge with you. Now throw another bone (you picked up 2 from the sack) down below to distract the slogs. Drop down and run to the door, then enter it and return to the main area. Jump in the chute to return to the foreground, then take the closest right side chute to get to the upper right door. --- Upper Right Door --- 1M Jump over the two ledges to your left and pull the lever (watch out for the boxes) to raise the elevator. Jump back over and take it down carefully. Stop when the screen changes and notice the moving mine. Time your elevator drops to get past the mine. When the elevator gets all the way down roll to the left under the falling boxes (timing it of course). Then head right and fall into the hole of the elevator shaft. Pull the lever here to shut of an electric field then haul yourself back up and head right to a room with a sleeping slig. Turn sneak mode on, sneak over and haul yourself up onto the ledge with the switch. Pull the switch which wakes up the slig and raises the elevator. Possess the slig and blow him up. Go down the elevator then head left two screens to a Mudokon. Save him then head back right and go through the door, then drop down and head through the lower right door (M19:R12). --- Lower Right Door --- 1M Take the chute here then go through the door. I don't know the correct way to solve this puzzle, but if you time it right you can save the Mudokon despite the grinder here. Just wait until the grinder is at its topmost point then press and hold select. The Mudokon should jump into the portal and be saved just barely missing the grinder (M20, R11). Exit back and run to the right as fast as you can to avoid the slig in the background. Jump up onto the ledge and enter the door there. Turn on sneak mode to avoid waking the slig and head right one screen to a room with two mines and a motion detector. Now there is two ways you can get past these mines - disarm them (duck and get up next to them, then tap A) or jump over them (stand one space away and jump, don't stand right next to it and jump or you'll hit it). Either way get past the mines and the motion detector and continue right. Sneak past this second slig and enter the door. Use the chute to return to the foreground and enter the newly opened door. --- GLUKKON HEADQUARTERS --- 11M Go through the door on the far right side on the bottom to start out. --- Bottom door 1--- 2M Sneak to the right and stop right in front of the middle of the large brew barrel. This spot is safe from the slig. Chant to posses the slig in the background. Have him head left and pull the lever to turn off the electric wall there. Head right two screens and shoot the slig in the foreground (hold down and B to shoot the foreground, position yourself so the shots hit on his level). Now chant to destroy this slig. Have Abe head back left and chant to save the Mudokon (M21:R10). Head right three screens then sneak when you get to another sleeping slig. Pull yourself up to the ledge here while sneaking and jump in the chute. Drop down to the bottom of this screen and pull the lever to stop the grinder, then chant to recuse this Mudokon (M22:R9). Head back up and through the chute. Sneak right, lower yourself down, continue right to an elevator. Take it up to the top, then jump in the chute. Hop to the right then lower yourself all the way down to a switch. Pull it, then go all the way back up and jump in the chute. Jump up to the screen above you. You will have to keep heading up to the next screen, but there is a slig guarding one of the platforms. Just time it so he's facing away when you jump up and keep holding up so you can get past him as quickly as possible. Once you're past him hop to the left, go up and disable the two mines or jump over them. Continue to the right and jump over the pit to the brew machine. Push up to drink a brew, push A to fart and hold select to chant and possess it. You can use the first one to blow up the mines in the room to the left of you if you didn't disarm them. Send the first fart down through the hole and to the room 2 screens down and kill a slig with it (push A to detonate it). Send the next one to the left and down to the slig guarding that ledge you had to sneak past. You can also use a few to blow up the mines if you didn't disarm them. Now you can safely jump left over the hole, lower yourself down a few ledges then head head right to the exit door. Hop up and go through the right side door on the top now. --- Top right door 1--- 2M Drop down and pull the lever, then roll off to the right. Time it just right to jump past a falling mine here. When you jump, you'll grab a ledge so quickly tap down to drop down then push right just before the next mine gets you. Jump up to the next ledge, haul yourself up, and quickly push right again to avoid the mine. Do this one more time and continue to the right. Take the chute then use the elevator to get down to a room with a moving mine and a teleporter. Roll into a ball and roll straight left under the mine, you will fall into a secret hole near the left side of the screen. Chant to save the Mudokon here (M23:R8). Now you need to find your way out of the hole, keep jumping up while facing right until you find the ledge and can haul yourself back up. Roll over to the right side of the ledge with the mine floating around it. Time it so you can jump up onto the ledge then run and jump and pull yourself up onto the higher ledge avoiding the mine. Pull the switch to teleport then pull the other switch in this room. This drops the Mudokon down. Chant to save him, then take the teleporter back and jump up to the exit door (M24:R7). --- Top left door 1--- 1M Head right, haul yourself up a couple of screens, then head right some more to a screen with some trap doors that open and close by themselves. Duck down and roll past these, timing it so you roll when they are closed. Continue to the right to a brew machine. Drink, fart, possess, and send it to the right two screens to blow up a chant suppressor in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Now take Abe to this screen and pull the lever there to summon a Glukkon. Possess the Glukkon (you may have to chase him to the left) and have him go back to the right. Make him say "help!" (A+left) then "come 'ere" (A+right) then "do it" (A+down) to summon a slig and have him pull the lever up there for you. Now send the Glukkon left (he can jump over the pit with the B button) to a large voicelock. Tell the voicelock "hey!" (A+up) to open the electric wall and head back right. Fall down the hole here, then go left. The Glukkon can walk through these walls that Abe had to duck under (not sure why) so continue left and time the trap doors. Fall down the pit here, then hop over the hole and talk to the voicelock to open this door. Now chant to kill the Glukkon. Abe can now take the elevator up (possess and kill the slig if he's still there) and head left a few screens to a doorway. Disable the two mines in here, then exit and reenter to recreate the bird portal and save the Mudokon (M25:R6). Exit the Mudokon's room, pull the lever to open the trap door, then drop down two levels and go through the door. When you get back to the main room go through the only open door to get to the next section. Now go through the bottom left hand door in this section. --- Bottom door 2 --- 4M Go through the chute then through the door. Ride the elevator up, then tell the Mudokon "hi" and "follow me". Run all the way to the right side until the Mudokon is standing over the trap door. Now tell him to "wait" (A+left). Pull the lever and he'll drop down. Now you can take the elevator back down and exit then reenter the door to make the bird portal come back. Chant to rescue the Mudokon (M26:R5). Exit the door again and head right. Chant to possess the slig here. Now run right (keep holding right constantly through the entire next screen) to avoid the fire from the other sligs (sometimes you will just be unlucky and the other sligs will get you, you may want to do this part before bothering with saving the Mudokon from the above paragraph to save you some time if you don't make it). Keep holding right until you drop off a ledge, then push and hold left to drop into a hole. Now shoot the mine here, then time it so you can drop down to the other ledge and shoot that mine too. You are done with this slig so chant again to get rid of him. Lower yourself down a couple screens until you are on the ground level of a room with a bird portal. Now this part is tricky. Run to the left and as soon as you are under the ledge, immediately jump straight up and pull yourself up. If you are too slow a slig will shoot you. Once you are up there just wait or walk around until the slig kills himself on the grinders. Then go turn the wheel until BOTH the grinders have stopped. Drop down and have the Mudokon follow you to the right, then chant and save him (M27:R4). Turn the wheel here to open the slam door, then haul yourself up to the part where the slig you possessed was. Turn sneak mode on and head right. Sneak past the sligs and enter the door halfway across this screen. Take the elevator down, then stand in front of the wheel and tell the other Mudokon to "work" at the same time you turn your wheel to open the slam door. Have him follow you to the right and chant to save him (M28:R3). Take the elevator up as high as it will go and head left. Disable or jump over this mine and take this other elevator up. Chant to open the portal (nothing will happen) then chant again to possess the slig. Kill the slig then take the elevator up and pull the switch. Take the elevator back down to the screen below to restore the bird portal, then back up. Make sure the elevator is even with the floor before you chant to rescue this Mudokon (M29:R2). Head back right and through the door. Turn sneak mode on and go right, then lower yourself down to the exit door. Since it's the closest take the upper left hand door. --- Upper left door 2 --- 2M Head right then go through this door. Turn sneak mode on, sneak past the sleeping slog and go up to the higher ledge. Go right and walk up to the very edge of this ledge. This next maneuver is a bit tricky. When the moving mine is below the platform and about halfway across it, push and hold down the B button. Keep holding down the B button so that Abe will jump again the instant he lands, and then when he grabs the ledge quickly push up to haul yourself up before the mine hits you. Pull the lever here, then go right and pull the lever there. Time the mine here and run to the right, dropping down to the platform then continue right to drop down to the floor. In the next screen to the right is a Mudokon. Have him follow you, then duck and roll left. The Mudokon will copy you and roll as well. Roll all the way left until you bump into a wall, then tell the Mudokon to "wait" (A+left). Go up onto the ledge, then turn on sneak mode and sneak into the left screen then back right again to restore the bird portal. Chant to rescue the Mudokon (M30:R1). Now sneak back to the left, lower yourself down gently and sneak back out the door. Now for another tricky part. You need to get the slig below to follow you to the screen to the right so you can possess him (there's a chant suppressor on this screen, but not on the one to the right). One way to do this is to hang from the bottom ledge for a brief second (don't drop down, just hang then go back up) so the slig will see you and start freaking out. Try doing it when he's near the right side of the screen. Then quickly jump up on the right ledge and head right. Hopefully the slig will run around enough that he'll end up on that screen with you, it may take several tries. Once you've got him there, possess him then have him fall into the pit to the right. Keep heading down and he'll eventually get to a switch and a moving mine. Pull the switch with the A button then shoot the mine then kill off the slig. Now as Abe again, head back left then down and lower yourself into the pit. Drop down through this screen to a screen with a doorway. Go through the door to the room with the final Mudokon. Roll to the right under the grinders (time them carefully, push right when they are right in front of you and they should move out of your way just in time). Now on the right hand screen jump up and hang from the ledge. Wait until just after the mine passes then haul up, tap left once, then push down to duck. Roll to the left to the next screen and stop in front of the switch. Wait till the mine passes then stand up, pull the switch, and duck again. Roll back to the right, drop down, then go back left. Now you can chant to save the Mudokon, but you have to be careful when you chant. Wait until the mine is on this screen and heading left then hold select to start chanting and the Mudokon should be able to make it (M31:R0). Congratulations! You've saved all the Mudokons! Now to finish the game. Carefully roll under the grinders and head out the door. Take the elevator down and roll carefully past the grinders to the left. Turn sneak mode on and sneak past the sleeping slig, watch out for the motion detector and only move when it's not on you. Keep sneaking left, then raise yourself up and keep heading up until you come to another door. Go through this door, then go through the last door of this section. --- Upper right door 2 --- 0M Sneak right two steps, then hold down the B button so that Abe jumps twice (once over the bomb, then once into the next screen..you have to make the second jump or the bomb exploding will knock you down and the slogs will get you). Now on the second screen run forward for a bit and jump over the second bomb (remember to jump when your one space away from it). Pull the switch to kill the electric wall, then continue right. Jump over this bomb then go up, back down the other side, and drop down the screen below. Keep heading down to the bottom then head back up the left side. Use the teleporter here then head right and pull the lever. Possess the Glukkon then have him head left and drop down to the floor, then head right to a large voicelock. Tell it "hey!" then continue right and have him run into the mine there. Possess another Glukkon and have him go the same place and blow himself up on the second mine. Take a third Glukkon to here, jump over the pit and continue right, and open this large voicelock, then chant to kill him. As Abe, take the teleporter back, head down and go right to the elevator, and take it down. Go through the door to appear back in section 2, and take the only available door here. --- THE REFINERY --- 0M This is the hardest part of the game. There are 4 switches you must switch to turn on 4 lights and destroy the refinery. However, if you die at any point you have to start over. It's like playing 4 different levels without any breaks in between. It's best to start with the hardest switch so you don't have to do as much when you die and have to start over (and you will die at least a few times, trust me). However, you may want to practice the other 3 less hard switches once first so that once you pass the hard one, you won't mess up with the other 3. So on to the hardest part of the entire game. Head left to an elevator, then lower yourself down. Roll through these grinders, using timing to get through. It may take a few tries but you'll have to master the timing on these. Now, when you get past the last grinder and to the edge, you will have to lower yourself down. However, the instant you lower yourself down you will die unless you continue to hold down on the pad and duck under a mine headed for your head. So just keep holding down when you lower yourself and you should live. Now for the really hard part. Roll left to the very edge of the hole here. What you have to do is jump over this pit and duck as soon as you get to the other side to avoid the mine. Remember, you don't have to stand up first to jump, just push B while ducked. I recommend stay ducked and watch the mine carefully. The INSTANT is passes by your head immediately push and hold the B button until Abe is in midair, then let go of B and push and hold the down button until he lands and ducks, just barely in time to avoid the mine. Now you can turn around and time the mine so that you can stand up, push the switch, and duck again just in time. Roll left down through the now dead grinder shaft and pull this lever to trap the dogs below. Drop down, take the chute, head right and flip the switch. That's one down, take this chute to return to the starting point. Now for the second to hardest switch. Head right then up the elevator, then right again. Here there is a bunch of closing trap doors. Now don't worry, you can safely stop on the base of the trap doors. Roll past them one at a time, stopping at the base of the next one. Now haul yourself up to the platform you can reach. You can stand on this lower platform, the mine won't get you. Face left and time a jump so the mine doesn't hit you in mid air. You will grab on to and hang from the ledge here. Now time it just right (move as soon as the mine passes over you while it is moving to the right) and haul yourself up, run to the left and do a running jump over the small pit with the mine hot on your heels. Continue left and use the teleporter. Lower yourself down the platforms, ignore the chute and head left to the switch. Pull it then go back and use the chute. That's two down, two to go. Now head left again and take the chute here this time. Get ready to race some slogs. Pull the lever and immediately start running left. When you see a ledge, do a running jump to grab it and haul yourself up. Head left to another switch. Again, pull the switch then book it to the left and jump up onto the ledge. If you miss the first ledge jump to the second one then just turn around and jump back. Use the teleporter here, then lower yourself down a bunch of platforms. Don't use this chute yet, first go right and pull the switch then come back and use the chute. Only one left to do! Head right this time and take the elevator down. Go right to a small pit and a switch. Stand to the left of the switch and keep pulling it until the slog falls down (sometimes you'll have to move around a bit to get him to walk over the trap door). Now go down to where he was, roll right, jump over to the platforms on the right side. Haul yourself up to another switch and pull it. Now you can try killing the slog by dropping down and hanging from the bottom ledge to get him to die from the grinder, or pull the switch a few more times to reveal a trap door you can try to get him to fall in. Either way, once he's dead pull that same switch until both grinders have stopped, then go down and enter the chute. Go left and pull the switch, and watch the end of the game! Congratulations, you've just beat one of the most challenging gameboy games around! And you've managed to save all 31 Mudokons to boot!
